Last nights Full Moon Glow.
A time capsule of a freshly washed face.
A document of what it felt like being mid life.
Not in crisis.
But in love.
With the life Iβm living.
A snapshot my 80yo self will look back on⦠fondly.
On a time when I was capable of anything.

And Charlieβ¦

Gone are the days when I couldnβt have a bedside lamp to read from.
I can read whenever I want now. In bed. On the couch. The porch. I know it seems strange to think that there was a time when my needs got brushed under the rug. I should have been more aggressive.
Gone are the days when I got scolded for having too many books everywhere, mostly unread ones.
Now I have books in every corner of my little cottage. I donβt take them to Goodwill to appease another for having them. And I am actually reading them without guilt or judgement. Iβve made it my new hobby.

This weekβs card. Transformation. π¦πΌ ::what mid life feels like:: Becoming, unbecoming, and becoming again. Not in stagnationβ¦ but in perpetual change. Slow and steadyβ¦ always ready. What Earthly delights can I discover now? And who am I today?

Spent four days in Putney a few weekends agoβ¦ otw there I listened to Number the Stars by Lois Lowry and marked it as finished for my Historical Fiction pic for April, an audio recording counts. Put a huge dent in reading A Room of Oneβs Own by Virginia Woolf while spending time in a pecan grove at my Grandparents houseβ¦ And last night I finished it in my living room, a momentary room of my own, while the kids were in bed. Both are must reads! I wonβt go into detail. Iβm not much of a βbook reviewerβ bc that takes time to write about what you think. And this place isnβt for book reviews. Itβs my little journal to remember the things Iβve done. Mark these down as my 4th and 5th books Iβve read this year.
A Room of Oneβs Ownβ¦ made me cry but also inspired me even more. Maybe one day Iβll do proper reviews. But for nowβ¦ Iβve got this one down as one of my favorites I will return to!

6th book read this year

Stardust by Neil Gaiman was β¨β¨β¨β¨ had everything I love in it! Witches. Fairies. Kings. Stars. The Moon. Love. Definitely will read this one to Willem when he gets a little bit older. Right now his attention span is too short to sit through it.

7th book of the year.

My first spicy book. Done in 3 days. Underlying storylines: Perimenopause. Menopause. Sexual awakeningβs. Kinda bizarre. But in a good way. Mid-life. Feminism. Dance. Art. Co-parenting. Alternative Family dynamics. Relationships. Bespoken arrangements. π Very eye opening that there are all kinds of arrangements in this world. Felt a bunch of different kinds of emotions. It was written really well. Definitely not for the staunchly β¦ but if youβre willing to be open to seeing others perspectivesβ¦ give it a go. Or if you just want to have your jaw dropβ¦ this will do it. TF?
